Four kinds of beauty

Where English says 'beautiful,' Shipibo distinguishes. Metsá — pretty. Sankén — intricately beautiful, the quality of fine designwork. Soí — lustrous, soft-shining beauty. Pené — bright, shiny. A culture that lives inside geometric design needs — and has — a precise vocabulary of beauty.
