Shipibo Foundations · Module 6: The Medicine World · Lesson 2 of 6

Seven dimensions of being

A person is more than a body. The teaching lists seven dimensions: yora — the body; shinan — mind and psyche; joi — the voice, also the word for language itself; kaya — the soul; kano — connection structure; niwe — wind-like energy; nete — universe, day, time-space. Healing may address any of the seven — which is why a healer's questions sound nothing like a clinician's.

Culture note. You already own two of these words — yora from Module 2, joi from the course's own name. The map was under your feet the whole time.
